My exhibition 'Crafting Landscape: An Exploration into Site-Specific Making' is to open as part of the Wirksworth Festival. This wil be the culmination of practical work created as part of my Masters by Research project. The exhibition will contain the knitted garments, artefacts used to create them, a short film, as well as artist books and photographs. More details will follow.

The Woad seed has germinated! During the past 12 months I have been gathering plant materials to use as dyes from the surrounding landscape. Yellows, oranges pinks and browns have all been found in abundance. Blue dye however is absent in our native flora, for this reason I decided to grow some Woad of my own. Grown in Europe since the Stone Age it has a long association with East Anglia, notably with Boudicca and the Iceni tribe who used woad to colour their faces before going into battle. I however will be dyeing wool with mine
